Rebecca Clarke’s Passacaglia on an Old English Tune is featured on ‘Roots and Green’, a programme of English music with tenor James Gilchrist, violist Shiry Rashkovsky and pianist Ian Tindale. Clarke’s versions of Old English Songs: Phillis on the New Made Hay, and It Was a Lover and His Lass offer a contrast to the moving Passacaglia.
This takes place at Up Close and Musical at the Fidelio Café in Clerkenwell, London on Nov. 3. The concert also includes music by David Bednall, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Gerald Finzi
